You can, but we generally recommend using the Matty’s Room Mat, which was designed to fit perfectly inside the Pen for a seamless, gap-minimizing setup.

If you choose to use another play mat, please make sure the setup remains safe and stable:

• The mat should be firm and supportive, not a soft mattress or cushion
• The surface underneath should be flat and level so the Pen does not wobble
• The mat should fit closely inside the Pen so there are no gaps where little hands, feet, or heads could get stuck

We intentionally chose food-grade HDPE (high-density polyethylene) because it is one of the safest and most durable materials used in modern baby products. It’s commonly used in food containers and baby products to its strength, moisture resistance, and easy-to-clean surface, helping create a hygienic play environment for little ones.

While wooden playpens are often associated with a classic furniture look, they can require more maintenance in a busy baby environment. Over time, wood may absorb moisture, warp, splinter, or develop rough edges, especially with frequent spills and cleaning.

HDPE avoids these issues while remaining lightweight, sturdy, and smooth to the touch, making it well suited for everyday play. It also maintains a consistent finish and is fully recyclable, supporting responsible material use.

The result is a non-toxic playpen designed to stay smooth, stable, and easy to clean as your child grows.

The vegan leather surface also includes an antibacterial coating, and the foam core is glue-free, bonded through heat process rather than chemical adhesives to help reduce exposure to harsh residues or VOCs.

The Pen (playpen)
The Pen includes Safety Stoppies™, our anti-skid silicone grips designed to help keep the playpen stable and reduce unwanted movement. Rounded edges provide a smoother, softer surface, while the triple-action sliding door lock is easy for caregivers to use but designed to stay secure against curious toddlers.

On carpeted floors, the Mat still offers supportive cushioning, though grip may vary depending on the carpet’s pile height.

For best stability, we recommend placing the Playroom on a firm, level surface and ensuring all panels are properly assembled.

The Playroom is not designed for outdoor usage. To maintain their quality and durability, avoid exposure to sharp objects, moisture, or prolonged direct sunlight.

The Pen can be quickly disassembled into individual panels, allowing you to store it compactly when not in use. The Mat folds easily for convenient storage or transport, making it simple to move the play space when needed or free up room in your home.

The Playroom is quick and easy to set up. The Pen can be assembled in about 10 minutes, requires no tools, and can easily be put together by one person.

The Pen
The Pen is designed for easy maintenance. Wipe it down with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. For tougher messes, a gentle soap and water solution works well. Avoid excessive moisture and dry the panels thoroughly after cleaning.

The materials used in the Mat and Pen are water-resistant but not fully waterproof. Spills should be wiped up promptly to prevent moisture from sitting on the surface.

The Mat’s seamless top surface helps prevent liquids from seeping into gaps, making everyday cleanup quick and simple.

No. Please avoid using bleach, abrasive materials, or harsh chemicals, as they may damage the product and could be harmful for children.

Instead, use mild cleaners, gentle soap, and water for regular cleaning.

We want you to love your Playroom. If you're not completely satisfied, you may return your item within 21 days of the shipping date.

To be eligible for a return, the product must be unused, in its original packaging, and in resellable condition.

Because our products ship in large, heavy boxes, we charge a flat return shipping fee of $75 per item, which will be deducted from your refund. (Please note: The Playroom includes two items—the Mat and the Pen—so each item is considered separately for return shipping.)

If returned items are used, damaged, or not in their original packaging, an additional restocking fee may apply to cover inspection, repackaging, or repair costs.

If your order has already shipped, it cannot be canceled or modified and will need to follow the return process.

2. Receive Return Instruction – Our team will provide a return label and packing instructions. 
3. Ship the Item Back – Drop off the package at the designated shipping carrier.

Return shipping fee and any applicable restocking fee will be deducted from your refund.
